Who this is for
You’re probably someone who:
Reads, reflects and takes responsibility for your own growth
Can explain your patterns, but still finds it hard to change them
Is high-functioning and capable on the outside, and carries something heavier underneath
Has done other therapy, coaching, retreats or plant medicine work, and wants to make lasting changes
Is seeking real embodied change rather than more insight
Insight alone doesn’t rewire the patterns. Understanding where they came from is the start. Changing them takes a relationship, a method and a journey that we’ll go on together.
Core areas I work with
Inner child work and reparenting
Most of us carry unmet needs from childhood. We work out what yours were, and how to start meeting them now as an adult.
Integrating psychedelic experiences
If something has left you unsettled or with more questions than answers, such as a breakthrough, a crisis or a strong altered state, we can explore how to integrate it, so it changes how you live and doesn’t just stay a memory. I support people with what has already happened.
Relationship and self-worth patterns
People-pleasing, weak boundaries, a harsh inner critic, feeling like you don’t belong. Together we trace core ideological patterns and beliefs back to their source to loosen their grip.
Over-functioning, perfectionism and burnout
If you’re always the capable one, always achieving, always holding it together, there’s often a child underneath who learned that love had to be earned. We look at what’s driving it and what it would be like to redistribute the burden of responsibility to its rightful owner.
Intergenerational patterns
The beliefs, roles and silences you inherited from your family. We look at what’s yours, what you were handed ancestrally, and what you want to leave behind.
Identity, meaning and change
Outgrowing old versions of yourself, a spiritual opening that’s hard to process, or a life that looks right but feels off. Together we can work out who you are now and what feels important.
What Transactional Analysis is
TA is a well-established form of psychotherapy. It looks at how the Child, Parent and Adult parts of you interact, and at the decisions you made early in life about yourself and other people. It’s practical. You’ll leave sessions with tools you can use independently.
Everything is agreed up front. You’ll know what we’re working on and why. It suits people who like to be active and directional with their own therapy.
How it works
Free intro call. A short call to see if we’re a fit.
First session. We agree what you want from therapy and how we’ll work.
Regular sessions. Weekly, online or in person in NW5.
Regular reviews. We check what’s helping and what to change. You can work on one specific thing or stay longer.
Low cost. £50 per session (50 minutes).
Low-cost therapy available in Kentish Town, Camden or Online.
About me
I’m Melissa. I founded Numinity and work as a medicine woman and psychedelic guide. Helping people confront themselves honestly is my mission, and TA gives me a solid framework for it.
My own path has included living with the effects of childhood trauma and abuse. I know what it’s like to be capable, driven and self-aware, and still be run by patterns you never chose. I know that understanding them isn’t enough to change them. What made the difference for me was relational work combined with psychedelics: meeting the younger parts of myself and learning to give them what they needed. That’s the work I now offer through my practice.
I’m direct, warm and not afraid to mirror back the uncomfortable stuff. I’ll challenge you when it’s useful, and I’ll go at a pace that will push you without overwhelming you.
I’m training with the Berne Institute and all my client work is supervised.
I follow the UKATA and UKCP ethical guidelines.
FAQS
-
No. Most of the work is inner child and relational. Integration is one specialist part of what I offer.
-
Yes, probably. Many of the people I work with have. If you know your patterns but can’t shift them, the work is usually about the relationship and the Child part of you, not more analysis.
-
No. I’ll explain what you need to know as we go.
-
Inner child work is therapy that focuses on the younger parts of you that formed in childhood, and on the needs that went unmet. In Transactional Analysis, we work with the Child ego state to understand those needs and begin meeting them as an adult.
-
Reparenting means learning to give yourself the love, care, protection, and safety you needed as a child.
-
Integration is therapeutic support for making sense of a psychedelic or altered-state experience after it has happened, and bringing what came up into everyday life.
-
TA looks at the Child, Parent and Adult parts of you, and at early decisions about yourself and others. It’s relational and deals with patterns and history, whereas CBT focuses mainly on current thoughts and behaviours.
-
Sessions are £50 for 50 minutes while I complete my UKCP and CTA training. The first step is a free intro call.
-
It depends. Some people come for a few weeks with a clear focus, others stay longer. We review regularly.
-
Yes, with the usual limits around safety, which we’ll cover in our first session. I take my work (without identifying you) to my supervisor, as all therapists must.
-
Yes. Sessions are available by video across the UK, as well as in person in NW5.
