Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") describe the agreement between Numinity Limited (“Facilitator”, “we”, “us”, “our”), with registered address at 4–5 Torriano Mews, London, NW5 2RZ, company number 15488897, and you, the Client (“you”, “participant”). These Terms govern your participation in the Plant Medicine Retreat.

These Terms become effective upon your acceptance and payment of the Deposit.

1. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms:

  • Application means the submission of a booking request and completion of medical/psychological screening forms.

  • Deposit means the non-refundable sum required to secure a place on the Retreat.

  • Facilitators means the individuals engaged by Numinity to lead and support the Retreat, including but not limited to Melissa Layton and Mo Haque.

  • Participant means any individual accepted to attend a Retreat.

  • Programme means the schedule of ceremonies, training sessions, and related activities forming part of the Retreat.

  • Retreat means the immersive programme organised by Numinity, including but not limited to accommodation, ceremonies, workshops, and integration sessions.

  • Venue means the physical location at which the Retreat is held.

2. Booking and Payment

2.1 A completed Application and payment of the Deposit are required to secure a place.
2.2 The balance of fees must be received no later than three (3) weeks before the Retreat start date.
2.3 Failure to pay in full by the due date may result in cancellation of your place, and the Deposit will be forfeited.
2.4 Bookings are non-transferable without Numinity’s prior written consent.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

3.1 Deposits are strictly non-refundable.
3.2 If you cancel more than six (6) weeks prior to the Retreat, any balance paid (excluding the Deposit) will be refunded.
3.3 No refunds are available for cancellations made within six (6) weeks of the Retreat start date.
3.4 Numinity reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a Retreat. In such case, you will be offered either a transfer to a future Retreat or a refund of fees paid. Numinity accepts no liability for consequential costs (e.g. flights, visas, accommodation).

4. Travel and Insurance

4.1 Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to Porto Airport and any required visas.
4.2 Comprehensive travel and medical insurance covering trip cancellation, emergency medical treatment, and repatriation is mandatory.

5. Medical Screening and Safety

5.1 All Participants must complete Numinity’s application forms honestly and fully.
5.2 Failure to disclose relevant conditions may result in refusal of participation without refund.
5.3 Numinity reserves the right to decline any Application if it considers attendance may present health or safety risks.
5.4 Participants agree to follow all health, safety, and ceremonial guidelines issued by the Facilitators. Participants agree that they are not affected by any of the contraindications to working with plant medicine.

6. Participation and Conduct

6.1 Participation in all activities is voluntary. You may choose to step back at any time.
6.2 Participants must behave respectfully towards Facilitators, staff, and other Participants.
6.3 The use of alcohol, recreational drugs, or any psychoactive substances during the programme is strictly prohibited.
6.4 Numinity reserves the right to remove any Participant whose behaviour endangers themselves or others, without refund.

7. Ceremonial Practices

7.1 Retreat ceremonies are rooted in the Shipibo tradition. Both lead Facilitators have been initiated within this lineage.
7.2 All plant medicines are sourced and prepared according to traditional methods.
7.3 Participants acknowledge that ceremonies involve psychoactive plant medicines, which carry inherent risks, and that outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

8. Group Sizes and Facilitation

8.1 Retreats typically host small groups of no more than 8 participants.
8.2 At least two Facilitators are present during all ceremonies.
8.3 Numinity endeavours to provide a balance of male and female facilitation for gender-sensitive support.

9. Preparation and Integration

9.1 Participants will receive preparation guidance (including dietary and psychological recommendations) in advance of the Retreat.
9.2 Integration support is included during and following the Retreat. Additional one-to-one support may be arranged separately and subject to additional fees.

10. Confidentiality and Privacy

10.1 Participants agree to respect the confidentiality of all group members. Personal experiences, identities, and stories shared during the Retreat must not be disclosed outside the group.
10.2 Numinity complies with applicable data protection law regarding storage and processing of personal data.

11. Liability and Acknowledgement of Risk

11.1 Participation is at your own risk. You accept full responsibility for your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing before, during, and after the Retreat.
11.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Numinity, its directors, Facilitators, staff, and associates accept no liability for any injury, accident, illness, loss, or damage sustained in connection with the Retreat, except where arising from proven negligence.
11.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

12. Programme and Venue Changes

12.1 Numinity may make minor adjustments to dates, location, Facilitators, or the Programme if necessary.
12.2 Any material changes will be communicated promptly to Participants.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

13.1 These Terms and any disputes arising from them shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
13.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

By paying your deposit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
